Why Should a Children’s Ministry Leader Consider the Engage Family Ministry Certificate?

Many thousands of leaders love Children’s Pastors Conference and have been coming for years (if not decades)! Every year, we also have hundreds of leaders come for their very first time. They’re all coming because they serve in children’s ministry.

But did you know at CPC in January, we also host our Engage Family Ministry Certificate? You may wonder: why would children’s ministry leaders be interested in a certificate in family ministry?

Here are some reasons you should consider this certification partnership between INCM and Bethel Seminary.

Children’s Ministry IS Family Ministry!

You cannot do Children’s Ministry apart from Family Ministry. All children come from some type of family, and family is the greatest influence on a child’s life and spiritual development.

So, as Children’s Ministry Leaders, we need to be aware of how to best connect and partner with families! As we do so we multiply the impact!

Many churches do not have a designated “Family Ministry Pastor.”

Family Ministry falls to the age level specialists on the church staff. It becomes the responsibility of the Children’s Ministry Leader to provide Family Ministry to the families of the children who are a part of their Children’s Ministry.

Knowing the various types of Family Ministry that are available will strengthen the impact of the Children’s Ministry on the life of the child.

Volunteers come in all shapes and sizes and from a variety of families.

As leaders in Children’s Ministry, we are called to care not only for the children who come into our ministries, but also for the volunteers who serve them on a regular basis.

This could include knowing how best to serve the families of the volunteers by being sensitive to the different types of families that are represented. It could also be knowing how the family life cycle can impact a volunteer or showing heartfelt support and care for their whole family.

These steps can take your Children’s Ministry to the next level!

Family ministry is a partnership.

We partner with parents, grandparents, and primary caregivers to provide spiritual foundations for the life of the child. But it doesn’t stop there! Did you know that if you only focus on partnering with parents, you are missing five types of Family Ministry that we explore in the Engage Family Ministry Certificate?

Don’t sell your ministry short! Broaden your impact by strengthening the depth and breadth of Family Ministry you offer!

Keep the CPC experience going all year long.

With Engage, you get an appetizer to CPC by being online with your colleagues in the Certificate prior to attending CPC. Then you get an amazing dessert that follows the main meal of CPC by continuing the journey with those in your Certificate degree!

The Engage Certificate turns the main course into a three-course meal!

If this quick overview has piqued your curiosity, learn more and register for our Engage Certification program. The deadline for registrations is September 6th!
