Chief Executive Officer
As the Chief Executive Officer for INCM, Michayla oversees the ministry and provides guidance for initiatives that inspire and equip the children’s ministry leadership community. For almost 15 years, she has had the privilege of serving in children’s and family ministry in various capacities. She champions the community through her leadership of INCM, writing, speaking, and coaching. Michayla has a Bachelor’s in Psychology with specializations in Christian Counseling and Life Coaching from Liberty University. Her heart for the importance of children’s ministry started at a young age observing her mother who was a volunteer children’s ministry director. These early experiences solidified a burning passion in her to serve those who serve children and families.
Michayla married her best friend and childhood sweetheart and they are having a blast raising their three boys! On the weekends, their family loves Sabbath, spending time with their church family (a Messianic Jewish congregation), enjoying family and friends that feel like family, and adventuring in Chicagoland.
MELISSA J MACDONALD
Interim Executive Director
Passionate about the church, Melissa J. MacDonald travels extensively speaking, training, coaching, and consulting. She’s the author of Missing: An Urgent Call for the Church to Rescue Kids. With humor and a unique perspective, Melissa calls the church to be The Church everywhere she goes. She and her husband, Luis, make their home in Iowa. Melissa has been to over 30 countries and seeks out the best ethnic food in every city she visits.
Interim Executive Director of Training
Chris serves as the Children’s and Family Ministry specialist at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. She also teaches spiritual formation classes at the graduate level and oversees the MA in Family Ministry program. Chris received her master’s degree in children’s and family ministry from Bethel Seminary and completed a Doctor of Ministry from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary focusing on emotionally healthy spirituality in children. She loves spending time with her family, running, and riding roller coasters.
Latara is a Bahamian native who has lived in Florida for most of her adult life. She has an MBA with a concentration in leadership from Nova Southeastern University and has been serving in children’s ministry in various volunteer roles since 2002. One of her greatest joys and passion in life is to be used by God to disciple children and youth with the gospel and help others discover their God-given purpose. She is gifted administratively and loves using this gift to bring clarity, continuity, and simplicity to processes and programming.
Latara deems being a mom to her two kids as her greatest gift in life. She absolutely loves traveling, trying new ethnic foods, reading, meeting people from various walks of life, and having great conversations with friends.
Chief Financial Officer
David, a Chicago native, worked alongside his father for many years as a partner in his father’s accounting firm. Faced with the challenge to keep his two tech-savvy boys engaged in regular family devotional time, he founded SproutBox (sproutboxkids.com) a company that creates Bible-centered products that incorporate technology to help facilitate a fun and interactive experience. He currently resides in Chicago, with his wife, Myung, and three children, Justin, Brandon, and Leah.
Media & Communications Director
Zac loves hearing, sharing, and creating stories that impact the world for good, and he does this best through the art of video. Zac loves serving the children’s ministry community and believes communication is a powerful tool to encourage, support, and further the mission of church ministry.
Zac and his beautiful wife, Stephanie, love life with their two children. They enjoy exploring the great outdoors, but also cozying up for a family movie night.
Jason serves INCM by developing and managing the websites and systems. God has given him incredible opportunities to work in the corporate financial industry then build his own company serving Christian nonprofits.
Jason has served in the local church through children’s ministry, youth ministry, and anywhere else that’s needed. He has also coached middle school boys basketball, and enjoys staying active with sports and outdoor activities.
Yanet started as a volunteer and has continued to serve INCM as the Resource Manager. Her dedication to Children’s Ministry started 18 years ago when she was called to serve in her local church. As a former Ministry Director herself, she has found great joy in continuing the work INCM does to serve this community. Her lively spirit is enhanced by her business savvy and love for equipping those to the things they need. This drives her ability to connect the community to the best Resources available.
Yanet loves to laugh and encourages those around her to see the joy in everything. Through Children’s Ministry she has developed a love of learning and will often figure out how to build, cook, or create things she is interested in. She is fiercely devoted to all aspects of her life which include her husband of 20 years, her four children, and the many animals that live in her home.
Mahogany is passionate about seeing children’s ministry leaders get connected to all that they need to serve kids and families, particularly in the area of education. She is a speaker and has experience serving as a children’s pastor for almost seven years at New Life in Christ Church in O’Fallon, Illinois. She is a graduate of Bethel Seminary where she earned a Master of Arts in Children’s and Family Ministry.
Mahogany actively listens to the children’s ministry community’s needs and questions and loves to serve them with a joyful and prayerful spirit. Some of her favorite things to do are spend time with her husband, enjoy a good cup of coffee, or laugh uncontrollably with friends!
Community Development Manager
Joy started ministering to kids when she was nine years old, working alongside her children’s ministry veteran mom. Joy has an M.Div from Bethel Seminary and spent five years leading families in full-time ministry before joining the INCM team. She is honored to develop and resource children’s ministry leaders who she believes are the most innovative and resourceful leaders of the church.
Joy lives in Minnesota with her wonderful husband and two joyful sons. You can find her hiking Minnesota’s state parks, in her regular kickboxing class, or visiting the closest farmer’s market.
Marketing & Advertising Specialist
As a child, Ivana felt like she was introduced to God as only a rule maker, but wasn’t taught she could have a personal relationship with Jesus. Once saved, Ivana wanted to help children learn that God loved them so much more than the rules they followed. She wanted to teach children the Word of God in a way they could understand.
After working in Television News for a year, Ivana left her dreams of broadcasting to pursue her passion for discipling children. She wanted to help spread the Gospel. She has served in children’s ministry both professionally and as a volunteer for almost 10 years.
Ivana and her husband, Luis, have three children ages four and under. They moved to the suburbs from the city and are settling their busy family in Pingree Grove, Illinois, aka “Where is that?” Ivana enjoys writing and creating content on her social media pages for fun.
Formerly titled the “Volunteer Program Specialist”, Pastor Nikki cares for those who serve the children’s ministry leaders of INCM. She has served in various volunteer capacities in children’s ministry for over 21 years. Nikki is also committed to walking alongside children and families as they grow spiritually. Her passion is to ignite the hearts of children to receive Jesus as their personal Savior. She endeavors to help them understand, embrace, advance the kingdom of God and to unearth their gifts and talent to glorify God.
As a spoken word artist and motivational speaker, Nikki has been asked to contribute original works to churches, business, and nonprofit organizations. She is ever ready to use the power of words to share God’s grace and truth.
Nikki absolutely loves connecting with, learning from, and covering CPC’s volunteers in prayer. Nikki traded her Chicago White Sox gear for Kansas City Royal swag when she relocated to Kansas City last year.
