Dear INCM Community,
Thank you for being a valued part of the INCM community. I’m writing on behalf of the board of directors of INCM to let you know that Michayla White has resigned from her position as CEO effective June 2. Michayla has served on the staff of INCM for nearly 9 years. She took leadership of the ministry in 2017 and brought new passion, vision, and health to INCM. In her almost 9 years of ministry with INCM she has held 3 different roles and multiple titles, she will forever be embedded into the history and framework of our ministry. And we are so thankful for her leadership.
Michayla leaves INCM as a healthy and growing organization with a strong staff. The board is holding confetti in one hand and tissue in another as we bless her to move forward into wherever God may lead her. We are so incredibly thankful for MIchayla and her leadership over these last 9 years. We know wherever she goes she will champion children’s ministries and their leaders. This has never been merely a job for her, but rather a calling.
Note from Michayla:
My friends, as my season serving you at INCM comes to a conclusion, I want to express my deep love and affection toward you and my gratitude for your kindness in letting me run alongside you in this way these past 9 years. You have continuously inspired me with your vision for the discipleship of this generation and your commitment to the Church of today and tomorrow. You are, without a doubt, heroes of the faith in my life. Thank you for blessing my life with your friendship and your faithfulness to Him.
It is with confidence in God that I release this season to Him and fully embrace what He has next for me. This was not an easy or hasty decision. It was bathed in prayer and discernment, watching and waiting, listening and observing. Though it is clear my season leading the ministry is completed, remember that titles are only titles – they ought not change who we are or how we show up if we are expressing the fullness of who He made us to be. So, though I won’t carry the title of CEO of INCM any longer, I remain your enthusiastic Confetti Thrower – always cheering for you, always celebrating you and your obedience.
My hope and prayer since I began this journey has been to steward well in my season and to leave the whole of INCM better than I found it. This is not something that is ever achieved solo- my heart could burst with gratitude and love for the remarkable INCM staff team, so many volunteers over the years, the wisdom and guidance of our founders and long-time partners, and the support of the INCM Board. Most notably, I want to express thankfulness for all I learned and how I was empowered through being led by former Board President, Todd Leidall, for the majority of my tenure.
As the ministry moves forward to achieve its beautiful mission, I remain an advocate for you and INCM. My charge is that you continue in what we have learned together. Remember your discipleship to Jesus is the most important thing about you. And know, I praise God every time I think of you.
Cheering for you, always.
Michayla White
The staff and community of INCM have been at the forefront of our minds as we have prayed about the future. While the board seeks out the next full-time leader, I will be resigning as president of the board and stepping in as Interim Executive Director of INCM. Chris Corbett, who is also a board member, will be stepping in as Interim Executive Director of Training. Both Chris and I have a deep love and heart for the children’s ministry community. We are honored to step in and keep moving forward with the mission of INCM. Look for more from us in the near future. Your INCM staff contacts will remain the same so please reach out and contact them as you typically would.
We know how loved and respected Michayla is. More info coming soon on how you can participate in celebrating her.
While the leadership of INCM is changing, our calling to the children’s ministry community remains the same. The board and staff are committed to the same strategic mission and vision of shaping the future of the Church by connecting all who champion the discipleship of children to training, resources, and community… We look forward to seeing all God will continue to do through the ministry of INCM.
The board is available for any questions or concerns you may have regarding this shift in leadership.
With much respect,
Melissa J. MacDonald
President of the Board of INCM
