5 Ways to Make a Volunteer’s Day

dandelion-day

It’s summer time! We know many of you are settling into your summer time rhythms (which we hope includes some margin for you to rest and get recharged).

The shift in seasons provides a great opportunity to reflect on some key volunteers in your ministry that have made a BIG difference! Notes of thanks are fantastic ways to communicate how much you appreciate their investment, but here are five ideas that spice up the traditional “thank you” card…

Disclaimer: these ideas all incorporate puns. Because they’re punny. (See what I did there?)

  1. “We need s’more volunteers like you!”
Totally inspired by this idea—you can simply fill a 4×9 inch clear cello bag with two graham squares, a marshmallow, and a mini chocolate bar. Print off a label with the phrase above, and ta-da! Super fun and super delicious way to say thanks! (Who doesn’t like s’mores? People who have obviously never had one.)
  2. “Donut know what we would do without you. Thanks!”
Who doesn’t love donuts? People who have obviously never had one. We thought this idea was so cheerful, and you can download the tags for it right here. (I would probably buy the donuts verses make them… but if you want to try the recipe, feel free to send some to our office for taste testing. ☺)
  3. “You’re all that and a bag of chips!”
This printable is really fun, and a super easy way to say “thanks.” Just print, buy a little bag of chips, and attach it to the bag!
  4. “Be Twix you and me… I couldn’t have done it without you!”
This post has a TON of fun tags you could print for almost any candy bar, but the Twix one was my favorite. Because Twix are awesome.
  5. “You are the ‘Balm’! Thank you so much!”
This one made us smile, and it also is a non-food item in case you’re concerned about allergies etc. Just buy some lip balm, print out these labels, attach, and voila!

What simple but fun things do you do to let your volunteers know you appreciate their investment each week? Let us know, and we will share a few with the community next week!

Hugs!

Michayla
