A Nudge Toward Obedience Led to Gospel Games

This article was written by Nikki and Kory Jordan, founders of Gospel Games. It is a paid partnership.

Obedience. Itโ€™s a word that can feel heavyโ€”almost intimidating. It can stir up thoughts of restriction, obligation, or even resistance. But what if thatโ€™s not how God wants us to see it? What if obedience isnโ€™t about limitations but about alignmentโ€”orienting ourselves under His protection, His authority, and His divine purpose? What if obedience is the key to unlocking the adventure He has planned for us?

A Nudge at CPC24

My husband, Kory, and I never expected to start a company. It wasnโ€™t even on our radar. But when we attended CPC24 as first-time attendees, something shifted. The conference was new and exciting, but more than that, we felt a nudgeโ€”God was stirring something within us. We heard speaker after speaker encourage us to move with God to obey even when we couldnโ€™t see the whole picture. We didnโ€™t know where He was leading, but we knew He was calling us to something.

A Message That Sparked a Vision

Then, the General Session speaker, Beth Guckenberger, gave a talk that changed everything. Using chairs as a visual, she spoke about the legacy we inherit from those who came before us, the impact of our own lives, and the legacy we leave behind. Each chair represented a generation. Looking back, we can see how God used that moment to plant a seedโ€”the very seed that would grow into our first Bible-themed kidsโ€™ game, Line of Judah.

Stepping Out in Faith

On the drive home from CPC24, we wrestled with the idea. Was God really asking us to create games? We had no experience, no financial backing, just a Spirit-led dream. But we prayed. We asked for courage, for the kind of obedience that doesnโ€™t hesitateโ€”obedience that moves forward even when the road is uncertain. And by the time we pulled into our driveway, we knew. Gospel Games was born.

Trusting God With the Outcome

This past year has been a whirlwind. We had no blueprint, no guarantees, but we had a deep conviction that God had given us this vision. So, we offered up what little we hadโ€”our โ€œfive loaves and two fishโ€โ€”and God did what only He can do. He took our simple “yes” and turned it into something far beyond what we imagined. He brought Line of Judah to life.

What Is God Calling You To Do?

We share this story to encourage you. What is God asking you to step into? What dream is stirring in your heart? Maybe it feels impossible, impractical, or even a little crazy. But remember: we serve a God who creates beauty from nothing, who calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things for His kingdom.

If you feel a nudgeโ€”move. Take the first step. Speak it out loud. Share it with a trusted friend. Cross off the first task toward making it happen. Trust that God is in the details, and the reward isnโ€™t in the outcomeโ€”itโ€™s in the obedience itself. No matter the audience. No matter the response.

God is moving. Watch and see what He will do.

About the Gospel Games Founders

In 2024, Nikki and her husband, Kory, founded a family Bible-based board game company, combining their passion for ministry with creativity. Over the years, they have served in various capacitiesโ€”mentoring college students, young adults, teens, and childrenโ€”witnessing success in each. Recognizing the power of games as a tool for imparting biblical truths, they set out to create engaging, faith-based experiences for families. With Godโ€™s guidance and the talents He has given them, they believe their games can inspire and educate, providing a fun and meaningful way to help expand His kingdom.
