Tweens.
The remarkable kids in our lives and ministries that are at a critical intersection—physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
Tweens are not a fringe group to be managed.
At this crossroads, the stakes are high. It’s a point at which we must rally. It’s the place where the roles of parents and the church in the stories of these kids are absolutely vital.
That is why we created Bridge.
3 Bridge Keynote Speakers
It’s a real pleasure for me to have the opportunity to introduce you to three people who have championed, served, and come alongside those who shepherd kids at this critical life stage. Their hearts for tweens, and for the parents and leaders who serve them, are apparent in every interaction I’ve had with them.
Dannah Gresh
Dannah is a best-selling author, speaker, and creator of Secret Keeper Girl (America’s most popular tween stage show for moms and daughters). She has authored 27 books, and is considered one of the leading experts on parenting tweens and teens, purity, and modesty. Her passion for helping parents of tweens connect with their kids at the deepest levels is truly a gift to the church. She is a deep well of inspiration and practical insight for leaders who desire to come alongside parents in the discipleship journeys of their kids.
George Barna
Well known as the founder of the Barna Group, George currently serves as the Executive Director of the American Culture and Faith Institute. He is also the President of Metaformation, a faith development organization. He has written over 50 books, including many New York Times bestsellers and award winners. His research and passion surrounding tweens and this critical life stage has influenced the way we see and serve these kids and their parents. The facts and the information are tremendous, but the wisdom he pairs with these is something we all must internalize for the sake of these kids in our ministries—and their families.
Dr. Richard Ross
Dr. Ross served as a youth minister for 30 years, and currently is a volunteer with teenagers and parents at Wedgwood Baptist in Fort Worth. He is a professor to the next generation of youth ministers at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth. Since its inception, Dr. Ross served as the spokesperson for the international True Love Waits movement. Dr, Ross’s heart beats with an obvious, unwavering love for Christ and the way intergenerational discipleship impacts young people, parents, and leaders to see the glory of the Father, the power of the Spirit, and the majesty of Jesus Christ.
Join Us at Bridge
I invite you to join Dannah, George, and Richard this November at a new event called Bridge. They will lend their voices to a critical conversation that children’s ministry leaders and youth ministry leaders must have together about tweens.
How can we influence their discipleship journey? How do we come alongside their parents? What is the role of the church in this? Who is responsible?
These questions are critical to our calling as shepherds of young people.
We hope you’ll join us!
