Hi friends! Wow, am I glad to meet you! If we were meeting in person, I would give you a hug…unless you made it obvious you would prefer shaking hands. Then, after we got to know each other, I would give you a hug anyways. I’m that person. Sorry.
My name is Michayla White. I’m a native Chicagoan—they tell me I have the accent, but I don’t believe it.
My family is incredible. My husband’s name is Stephen, and he makes the world a better place. We met when we were twelve, and it really was love at first sight. I am still amazed that he’s mine and I’m his. We just celebrated the first birthday of our laughter-filled little boy, Declan. He’s pure joy, and growing up way too quickly. He loves to crawl fast, and he thinks kitchen spoons and empty boxes are more fun than the piles of toys in our family room.
On paper, I’m a Bachelor of Science in Christian Counseling and Life Coaching from Liberty University. I also got my certification in Wedding and Event Consultation when Stephen and I got engaged because it was something I’d always wanted to try.
Some of my favorite things are coffee, books—preferably those two things together, long walks and talks, dark chocolate, playing piano, the faces of friends and family, and children’s ministry.
My passion for children’s ministry started early—as a high school student I knew the importance of investing in children in my church and community. I got involved as a Sunday School assistant, serving on a bus route, as a VBS leader, a summer camp counselor, and a day camp counselor. These experiences solidified a passion in my heart to serve those who serve children and families.
As an adult, I’ve had the privilege of spending the last seven years in children’s and family ministry serving in various capacities at Awana like media production, digital strategy, conferences, partnerships, and ministry program design. I’ve also had the privilege of consulting for ministry friends and organizations as they seek to clarify their message and get closer to those they seek to serve.
Now, in a beautifully unexpected way, God has led me to serve as the Training Director for INCM. I’m truly humbled by this opportunity, inspired by the vision of INCM, grateful for the passion of this team, and excited to serve you in the days ahead!
