The team at INCM is not sure we’ve ever met someone as genuinely wonderful as Lisa Harper– a hilarious storyteller and a deep, theological scholar that has a gift for connecting the dots of Scriptural truth with culture today.

Lisa has been in vocational ministry for thirty years and has written fifteen books and Bible study curriculums. She spent six years as the director of Focus on the Family’s national women’s ministry where she created the popular Renewing the Heart conferences, attended by almost 200,000 women, followed by six years as the women’s ministry director at a large church in Nashville. Her academic resume includes a Masters of Theological Studies with honors from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. Lisa was also on the Women of Faith national arena tour for eight years and speaks at many other large multi-denominational events, as well as at hundreds of churches all over the world.

What we love most about Lisa, however, is that she shares that her greatest accomplishment by far is that of becoming Missy’s (her adopted daughter from Haiti) mama! They live on a hilly farmette south of Nashville, Tennessee, where they enjoy eating copious amounts of chips, queso, and guacamole. And then diving in the pool immediately afterwards instead of dutifully waiting the recommended thirty minutes. (She is our kind of fun!)

We’re absolutely over the moon to have her joining us at CPC18 where together we are exploring the theme of Made For This. We can’t imagine a better person to guide us through the topic of how we were made for the glory of God than Lisa!

P.S. (If you haven’t picked up Lisa’s latest book, you need to! In The Sacrament of Happy: What a Smiling God Brings to a Wounded World, Lisa takes you deep into a true understanding of what happiness is, and leads you closer to the heart of God… and I can guarantee you’ll be laughing out loud as you turn the pages!)
