Advent has become my favorite Christmas tradition. Advent is a vital time of anticipation for the Christmas celebration. It is hard for us families to remain centered during the busyness of the Christmas season. For children, it is all the more difficult. Retailers launch their ad campaigns, holiday movies talk incessantly about Santa and gifts, and friends talk about the stuff they want to find under the tree.
Last year, I wondered if there was a way to create a resource for families that would capitalize on the prime opportunity for families to celebrate Advent together and prepare for Christmas intentionally. With the help of ministry friends, we wrote, designed, edited, and distributed an Advent devotional for families in only 7 days. That devotional was distributed to over 20,000 people and churches all over the world. So much yes. The response was overwhelming and one of the consistent requests was for this resource to be turned into a physical book for families to enjoy.
This leads me to an epic announcement….
Today INCM has launched our first Kickstarter project called “The Advent Book.” We’re building upon the collaborative efforts from ministry leaders all over the country to provide a beautifully illustrated guide for families to make Christmas more meaningful. The Advent Book is a devotional with spiritual prompts and family experiences for each day of Advent.
And we need your help. Kickstarter is an all or nothing funding platform. People contribute towards a funding goal, but those contributions are only collected if the project funding goal is met on time. Our project ends in only 23 days!
You can help in three ways:
1) Check out the project on Kickstarter (Make sure to watch the video!)
2) Share the project on social media
3) Grab a copy of The Advent Book by becoming a project backer! Support the project by contributing at one of the three different reward levels
Let’s do this.
