Yogi Berra, the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame catcher, was known for more than being a great player – he was known for unwitting folk wisdom. Berra quipped his way into modern culture with short quotes like:
You can observe a lot by just watching.
It ain’t over till it’s over.
Jim Wideman is the Yogi Berra of #KIDMIN. He’s known not only for his Hall of Fame history as an author and pastor, Brother Jim is known for being, as author Jon Acuff puts it, a “Tweet Machine.”
Jim has collected 500 tweets across 7 hashtag topics in his new self-published book, Tweetable Leadership (releases October 1, 2015 and available here for pre-order). This book is an easy read and also includes some short articles on each of the topics. Consider using these tweets as an email signature line to your volunteer team or local network. Keep in on your shelf for a quick shot in the arm word of encouragement and wisdom. Or come to CPC16 and listen to Jim share LIVE in 2 different breakouts!
Here are some examples of Jim’s “Tweet Machine” working its magic. Now in a book with so many quotable quotes, I could put all of them in this review! But I chose to just open to a page and share what stood out:
It’s important to love God’s Word more than popular literature or opinion.
What took me up and out of my chair was this quote:
I’ve read this before, heard this before, even shared this before with others but never realized it was from Jim! So so good.
I’m giving away 10 digital downloads of Tweetable Leadership in an upcoming webinar with Ryan Frank and Byron Ragains. Join us for the Fresh Ideas Webinar on October 5 at 12 p.m. CDT. Register here for your chance to win a free digital download of the book, Tweetable Leadership.
