Five Questions for Recruiting, Training, and Discipling Volunteers

One of the incredible speakers at Vantage this year was Kris Smoll. Kris has been the Director of Discovery Land Children’s Ministries at Appleton Alliance Church since 1993. Leading from the main stage at Vantage, Kris electrified the audience with passion from her experience as a children’s ministry leader. She shared five brilliant questions (plus one bonus) on the topic of “Recruiting, Training, and Discipling Volunteers.”

  1. What is the physical atmosphere communicating to my team?
  2. Am I igniting a verbal excitement for what God is doing?
  3. Is my team multi-generational?
  4. Am I offering volunteers tools to grow?
  5. Am I retaining and multiplying the team?
