It's hard to believe that it's been two weeks since a couple thousand leaders like you were gathering in Orlando and beginning what would be a week I will never, ever forget.
One of the most stunning things to observe at CPC this year was what it looks when the fruit of the gospel spills out onto each other in community. The wonder of the gospel is that it transforms everything - including our affections toward one another.
Jesus has unfathomable affection for us- He wells up with it for His people. This deep love and affection is what we are called to take on for each other- it is to be a yearning for one another that spills out on the people of God. I think Paul says it beautifully in his letter to the Philippians:
"Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy...So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart...God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus. I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return..." - Phil. 1:3-10
The gospel changes everything, and it is the fruit of it that would cause our hearts to exclaim, "God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus!" This is what is in our hearts for the children we serve, and it is what is in our hearts for each other... and it's what I saw spilling out at CPC19. I've never been more thrilled by what God is doing in the hearts of His people!
One of the things that was always on my mind, however, were the leaders whose faces I wasn't getting to see. I was longing for these leaders with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus. I was praying for those who weren't able to make it and experience the encouragement of a community that celebrates their leadership and service.
I heard from so many of you about how much you needed something like CPC, but just couldn't make it work this year. And you know what? I really believe that the Lord is going to give you just what you need- He will not let you run dry. Please know, our team is here to run with you this year- we exist to connect you to what you need.
For right now, I'm so excited to share the highlight video so you can see some of the ways God worked at CPC19! I pray that these stories will encourage you!
