A lot of great things can be accomplished in an hour. Making and eating a great meal with your family. Organizing the supply cabinet for the nursery. Making a dent in that new book you’re reading. A nap ;-). A breakout at CPC17.
But some things just aren’t meant to be done in an hour. Some things take longer for them to be what they need to be. Like coffee with a friend you haven’t seen in a long time. Or preparing Thanksgiving dinner. Or a Target run (Can I get a witness? I mean to only go in for milk and diapers every time, but…).
We’re mindful of the unique learning environment that you experience in the conference setting. In fact, Intensives were born out of conversations with speakers, leaders like you, and academics who are experts in how people learn.
Intensives are so important that they will be what starts off your conference experience at CPC. They are unique sessions of training that provide three hours of focused learning, instructive discussion, and practical application for a specific topic or area of ministry. These topics are chosen based on needs indicated by children’s and family ministry leaders.
Intensives are crafted so that the subject might be interacted with in a way that is most helpful to the learner – that’s you! Intensives do not follow a fixed hourly schedule like our breakouts. The Intensive presenters have the freedom to schedule the three hours in a way that is most conducive for the learner to get the MOST from the content.
You can expect to walk away from your Intensive experience with a comprehensive understanding of the subject, actionable information and tools, ideas you can implement when you get home, and some new friends!
We’re thrilled to introduce you to your CPC17 Intensive options!

P.S. Have you taken a look at the CPC17 Schedule yet? Remember, CPC kicks off with Intensives at 9:00 am on January 24th, so be sure to get a good night’s sleep, grab your coffee, and we’ll see you in Intensives for some INCREDIBLE training to start your CPC experience!
