Title: Reaching Out to Neighborhood Children … AM Training and PM is the Real Deal!
Presenters: Kevin Reynolds & Rachel Beaver
Description: This Preconference Intensive Training Session is designed for those who want to make a lasting impact on unreached children in their own communities. The session will begin with a discussion on "The State of the Church" as it relates to Children's Outreach Ministry, and then dive heavily into the nuts and bolts of what is needed to gain a vision, launch, and sustain an ongoing neighborhood children's outreach ministry. Then in the afternoon, attendees will have an incredible opportunity to observe and assist in an actual outreach ministry launch. Through attending this session you will be given the vision, inspiration, and tools to launch an outreach ministry of your own.
Title: Spiritual Character Formation…Who are You When No One is Looking?
Presenters:Vernie Schorr
Description: This pre-con is designed to explore the relationships of character formation and the development of the spiritual life in children. Spiritual and character formation in children as well as in adults requires the intentional practice of spiritual disciplines, which includes introducing them to the person of God through Jesus and an ongoing, intimate relationship. Session topics include the process of character and spiritual formation and transformation, how children think and learn, developing character language, and much more. Participants will be actively involved and have opportunity to put concepts into practice throughout the sessions. Christian school teachers will be awarded one CEU in Biblical studies or Educational studies for this six hours course. No homework, reading, writing project or assignments will be included in this hour total.
Title: Preteens in the gap…keeping great kids from dropping through the cracks
Presenters:Gordon & Becki West
Description: A startling 40% of churched kids drop out of our programs between children’s Sunday school and youth group! We need a realistic understanding of who preteens are and what makes them tick. How do we balance meeting their felt needs so they will come with meeting their real needs so they will mature? How do we motivate them to seek God? And, most importantly, how do we work together as church leaders and parents to shepherd them through the early adolescent developmental stage of 10-14 years of age?
Title: Family Ministry Strategic Plan …More than an Ad-On
Presenters:Dr. Greg Carlson, Rob Rienow
Description: CM leaders know it's biblical and necessary to involve families in the ministry. But there's a lot to do, interest is not as high as desired, and creative implementation lacks momentum-it begins to feel like just an "add-on!" Come join two experienced family ministry leaders who will help you craft your own take-home plan to:
• Motivate enthusiasm and support for family ministry through a compelling biblical foundation
• Organize simple and clear progamming shifts with the support of your staff team
• Build a stronger church through building stronger families
• Deepen ministry to families with creative resources
• Equip parents and grandparents to take the spiritual lead with their children at home.
Title: Strap on your Tool Belt…Building CM from the Ground up!
Presenters: Carol Jones
Description: Building a Children's Ministry is a fun and often challenging task, even for an experienced builder. You must have the right tools, the right people, the right team, and a great set of blueprints. You also have to be a great renovator, constantly rebuilding and redesigning in order to keep current with modern thoughts, ideas, and innovations. Whether you are a first year novice or an age old veteran, you will walk away from this seminar with hundreds of ideas (and handouts) that will help you build a Children’s Ministry that will be exciting, growing, and culturally relevant for generations to come!
