Children's Pastors' Conference 2016 CPC16

What is better than getting a jumpstart on your training experience at CPC16?

Doing it for FREE!

For CPC16, we are bringing back pre-conference training for FREE!. We’re so excited about the tracks this year for pre-con, and hope you’ll make it a priority to not miss out on this valuable training opportunity crafted with you in mind.

Pre-con will take place on January 20th from 9 a.m. to noon at the Chattanooga Convention Center. You’ll have plenty of time after pre-con to head to lunch, and then come back for the amazing resource center grand opening!

I know. You’re thinking, “Michayla, what ARE the CPC16 pre-con tracks?”

So glad you asked!

Here’s the break down:

First up, we have Keith Ferrin spending an entire pre-con track focused on “Helping You ENJOY the Bible (Not Just Believe It).” Here’s a short description of what you can expect:

Do you feel like you “should” read the Bible more? Like you “should” know it better? After 20 years of feeling the same way, the “should” turned to “want.” Keith discovered a new mindset, new approaches, and new habits (and none of them are difficult). We’ll also unpack the principles for helping the next generation enjoy the Bible, too!

Keith is a dear friend, and a phenomenal teacher. If you’re looking for a pre-con that will invigorate your own time in the Word, and also give you practical ways to engage the next generation in Scripture, you’ll NOT want to miss this track!

Next up, we have Ryan Frank, Karl Vaters, and Brannon Marshall digging into “Children’s Ministry in the Small Church.” This track has brand new content, and at the end you’ll hear from a very special group of leaders… But I can’t spoil the surprise!

Here is a short description of what you can expect from this track:

Small churches aren’t bad. Small churches aren’t inferior. But faithfully serving a small church requires a different posture of KidMin leadership. We’re excited to announce the return of the small church pre-conference track with a heightened emphasis on innovation, quality resources, and disciple making.

Also, you didn’t hear it from me, but our good friends at Thomas Nelson are sponsoring lunch for all the participants in this track because they love small church kidmin leaders so much! Super awesome!

Next, we have our friends at the Tween Gospel Alliance providing you with incredible training for “Tween Ministry 101.” Join the experts in tween ministry as they dive into understanding tweens, how to start a tween ministry in your church, and how to equip parents of tweens. Here is a short description of what you can expect from this track:

Come discover practical insights that will educate and equip you for ministry to tweens – whether you are currently doing anything specific with them or not.

If you’re thinking about ministry to tweens, are starting ministry to tweens, or are just trying to understand more about this critical age group, this track is for you!

Ok friends, get ready for this. This next pre-con track is brought to you by the brilliant Barbara Newman. She is going to be guiding you in a track called, “Autism Spectrum Disorder: What it is and How to Help.” For anyone thinking about having a children’s ministry that welcomes ALL kids, this track is going to be especially helpful for you! Here is a short description of what you can expect from this track:

Is your church prepared to welcome the growing number of children who are diagnosed with ASD? While some churches have created successful opportunities, others are struggling. Barbara J. Newman will share practical strategies you can use to become a more successful and welcoming church with each child, including those with ASD.

Barbara is a phenomenal teacher, and this content is going to transform the way you include children with ASD and their families in your ministry!

Lastly, calling all children’s church music directors!! We have a special pre-con track brought to you by our friends at Brentwood Benson called “Twist and Shout! Using Music to Move, Inspire, and Teach Your Kids about Christ.” This track is going to be FUN and will equip you in your roles as you guide kids to Christ through music. Here is a short description of this track:

Pump up the volume and put on your dancing shoes as we take a closer look at the importance of music in your children’s ministry. We’ll talk about different ways you and your kids can bring glory to God through singing, dancing, and developing a lifestyle of worship.

You’ll get to hear from experts like Celeste Clydesdale, Jeff Slaughter, and others in this track that’s sure to get your CPC16 training off to a fun start!

Wow! What a great line-up!

Be sure you register for the pre-con track of your choice as soon as possible. (You can do this by either registering for CPC16 or, if you’re already registered, by going back into your registration and adding the pre-con.) It is free, but space is limited!

We are so looking forward to being together at CPC16, and I can’t wait to see you at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20 to kick things off at Pre-Con!

Hugs!

How do I register for the precon?

    • Ian Philpot says:

Tifany, you’ll need to either find your confirmation email and click on the “MODIFY” link or go to the registration page and click on “Already registered.” Once you’ve accessed your registration, you can add the precon to it.

      • Maureen says:

Thanks for this reply Ian…but we can’t find the place to select a track. We are registered for the pre-con but can’t find the selection information.
