Library Idea - Creating A Children's Library in Your Church

This idea is reprinted from the Best Proven Ideas gathered at Children's Pastors' Conferences from 1990-1994.

There are usually many overlooked areas in your church that could be used for a children's library. In our church it was some unused wall space in a hallway.

The library is divided into three (3) sections; children, teaching, parenting and has the following guidelines:

HONOR SYSTEM LIBRARY

Two simple steps to checking out Books!

1) Print full name on card in the book; leave card in the check-out box.

2) write the date to be returned on the date card and place in the book pocket on the front of the book.

YOU MAY BORROW A BOOK FOR TWO (2) WEEKS.

Children nine (9) and under must have their parents check out the books for them.

There are many ways to build your library, listed below is one:

Give a Book gift in honor of your child:

This book could be in honor of a birthday or special recognition of your child. Purchase a Christian book of your choice or call for suggested titles. We will put a special label in the book denoting who the book is in honor of.

Your Book gift may be brought to the church office or contact us.
